Yesterday was such a nice day so I decided to take the boys to the Layton City Park. The playground was packed of course so we just took old bread, rolls, and buns and went to the duck pond and feed the duckies. Weston wasn't too sure at first and just kept saying, "let's go for a walk." He didn't want to feed them. There were so many seagulls that were so aggressive so we decided to walk around. Then we came to a spot where there were no seagulls (for a moment) and we started to feed the duckies. Finally Weston decided it was fun and wanted to get out of his stroller and go feed them. He kept saying, "I want lots of bread." He had to have bread in each hand. It was so cute.

Learning Letters

So for the last few days Weston would say there's an N and then the other day he asked to touch the N in his name in his room. Well yesterday he kept saying letters and pointing them out. So I got his leap frog letters and he was able to identify an n, o, e, s, m, w, q, and I think that is it. Now I would like to take credit for my son's learning but this whole heartedly goes to Seasame Street. I really think his love of Elmo, Cookie, and Big Bird have started to teach him his letters. But now that I know he is motivated to learn them I am going to start trying to teach him. He has been able to sing his ABC's for almost a year and count to 20 but I guess its time to learn his letters, colors, and tackle potty training but that is another post. Thank you again seasame street.

Big Boy Bed
A few weeks ago when my mom and I were at the DI my mom found this white headboard and footboard. It was only $5 and I thought that would be great for Weston's big boy bed but it was in real need of a face lift. Then a few weeks later I was at TJ Maxx looking for something to wear to Cason's blessing but found the cutest bedding instead. Everything was fitting together nicely to start the transition from a crib to the big boy bed. So I sanded and painted the bed and bought him a mattress. Last night was his first night. I was so reluctant to make this transition because Weston is a terrible sleeper. He won't nap in his crib you have to lay with him for him to nap and he only sleeps in the crib at night. I feared he wouldn't stay in the bed and it would just be a hugh hassle. But yesterday we got it all put together and Weston slept in his first big boy bed for the first time. He was so excited to sleep in it. He kept asking if it was time for bed and when he could sleep in his bed. So at nine we put him in a new pair of pj's and off he went. Weston laid right down and went to sleep. I didn't have to lock him in, threaten him nothing. He stayed in there until 8:30 then he came in and woke me up. I hope this wonderful trend continues. Pray for us. LOL!
The big boy bed all finished!
