Dear Weston



Dearest Weston,
Today you turned 7.  You are getting far too big for me.  It makes my heart ache to just think that just 7 short years ago you were placed in my arms and now.....  Now you are a big 7 year old.  You have such a mind of your own at times.  You can be so independent but yet at other times you love to be my little boy and snuggle in my arms. I have watched you blossom from a shy little toddler to such an outgoing, silly, argumentative, smart boy.  Weston, you have so many friends at school.  I love walking down the halls at school and not only being known as Mrs. Hemphill but as "Weston's mom".  You are doing so well in school and it just thrills me because with your eyesight school could be such a struggle.  But you are an AWESOME reader and speller.  I am surprised daily at how smart you are.  I love watching you play with Cason.  Though you two can fight you really love him and would stand up to anyone for him.  Watching you with Taylyn melts my heart.  You love her so much and are so sweet with her.  You really are an amazing brother.  I hope you had a wonderful birthday because you are a wonderful son.  I love you so much.

3 months a 1/4 of a year old

 

My gorgeous baby girl is 3 month old.  I love seeing her grow and progress but honestly it makes me so sad how fast this time is going.  She is such an amazing addition and now I guess completion to our family.  Taylyn is just so happy.  She gives the biggest smiles and mimics our facial expressions.  We haven't gotten a laugh yet but she is so close.  Check out her cute bow I made :)

Diaper:  Size 1 but they are too big so they make her leak daily grrrr

 

Clothes:  Onsies size newborn.  Clothes are size 0-3 months

 

Sleep:  She is sleeping about 4-6 hours at a time at night.  She eats and goes back for another 3 hours or so.  There was about a week before she turned 3 months that she only woke up once a night.  That was nice.  The last few nights she has woken more and its been rough.  Please go back to sleeping better. 

Accomplishments:  Smiling a lot, sleeping more through the night.  Puts herself to sleep.  She loves her two middle fingers.

Taylyn's Blessing

Taylyn Marilyn Hemphill was given a name and a blessing on August 25, 2013 by my Uncle Dean.  It was a beautiful day.  My mom and I spent the Saturday before make a delicious sweet pork to make Café Rio sweet pork burritos.  Oh man they were DELICIOUS.  There was some drama getting this set up.  I set it up with my Bishop and then three weeks later the week we were supposed to bless her my bishop calls and tells me it was Stake conference so we couldn't bless her.  Luckily it worked out to have her blessed in my mom's ward.  After the blessing we all came to our house.  We had a yummy lunch, some cake, and some wonderful conversation.

 We didn't get any pics as a family at Weston's blessing and none of Cason's blessing at all so I wanted to make sure I got our first family picture taken.

 Poor Taylyn of course got blessing acne ugh.  Oh well still so beautiful.

Taylyn was so good during the blessing.  And there was a very special moment.  When my uncle handed Tay back to me she was looking kind of off to the side up in the sky.  There was nothing there but she kept looking there.  I had the strong feeling that my grandma Marilyn (her namesake) was there. 

2 months

Taylyn turned two months old on September 11.  We went in for her two month check the day before.  Here are her stats:

Weight: 10.13 pounds 37%

Height: 23 inches 74%

Head: 14 inches 10%

She had her DTAP shot, and rotovirus.  We will do the rest in about a week or so.  She did very well.  Taylyn gave a cry when she got her shot but once I picked her up she was perfect.
