Cason's Birthday Party

On Saturday we celebrated Cason's FIRST birthday. I honestly can't believe he is a year old already. He was such a good boy (like usual) and took a nap from 11-1:30. This was perfect given he was going to be having his party at 2. People started showing up and we had a great time. Jon was incharge of the menu and he did a fabulous job. He started to smoke a brisquet at 8 which was good (a little salty, but good), he also BBQ chicken and hot dogs. We also had baked beans, veggies and dip and Jon's mom brought some chicken salad sandwiches. After eating Cason played with some of the other babies that came. Abby and Marshall. As well as enjoying all the older kids. Then it was cake time. I knew there would be NO hesitation with his cake because he LOVES FOOD! And he didn't disappoint. He wasn't too sure about the candle on his cake. My mom lite it before everyone was ready to sing "Happy Birthday" so he got a pretty sorry "Happy Birthday" I should have re done it but Weston and I sang it to him repeatedly on his reall birthday. He loved his cake. Cason ate all the frosting before finally getting to the cake and then he proceeded to try to eat the cardboard. It was so cute. He was such a mess that we had to give him a bath of course. After getting redressed and everyone else had cake and ice cream we decided to go do the pinata. We didn't blindfold the younger kids but the older two got blind folded. Dayton was kind enough to not only hit his Dad in the leg but his Dad was holding Ashton so he waked his brother and his Dad. Sheena (his mom) and I couldn't stop laughing it was hilarious. Then the adults all got a whack at it. Sheena proceeded to hit Jon in the hand. Luckily there were no other conflicts. Finally we just whacked it reall hard to get to the goods. Afterwards we did presents. Cason got a bond from his Great Grandparents in Texas. Jon's Grandparents also gave him a bond and a firetruck. My mom, Jon and I gave him a radio flyer wagon. Collette and her family gave him the cutest outfit and some board books. Jon's parents gave him two stuffed animals. Kenton, Sheena and the boys gave him two cute outfits from Carters (one I had picked out but sadly had to put back so I was thrilled). Then we got some books and another outfit from either Jodi, Matt, and Marshall or from Alisa and Abby. And who ever didn't get him that gave him another outfit. So needless to say Cason will be stylin this summer. Thanks to all that came and thank you for the presents. Mostly Cason loved the tissue paper and bags. But Mommy was thrilled! Enjoy the pictures.

One year ago today.....

Sorry this is just a sweet, mushy, letter to my little one year old.
Dear Casey Roo,
As I sit here at work and remember this day one year ago I can't help but wonder, where did this last yera go to? You were so easy during my labor. Contractions are awful but they always are but you were so excited to come into the world that you didn't make me go through them for long. We got to the hospital at 6 and you were here by 7:50. As I was dropping you off at Grandma's today it hit 7:50 and I could help but think of all the things that were happening at that time a year ago.....

Daddy and I were so thrilled to finally have you in our arms. You were such a considerate baby and waiting until I had your room finished, it was 12 weeks until the end of the school year (so I didn't have to go back until the next school year), and so that I had a week to recover before I had to go back to my night class. Though you thought you might have wanted out at 32 weeks you were kind enough and smart enough to wait until 37 weeks.

I remember just looking at your cute little feet that bend all the way up to your leg like a frog for weeks because of how you were in my tummy. I thought it was the cutest thing. I love how even now your still curl up into the scrunched up position when you get your clothes taken off.

You were such an amazing baby. I know Mom's all say that but you truly were. You slept pretty well through the night well for atleast (4-5 hour stretches at a time) within the first week. You allowed me to try and time naps perfectly with Weston so we could all get a nap in. (Your brother didn't always cooperate, and sometimes you didn't either but for the most part I was allowed a nap or two a week.)

Cason, you were such a mover in my stomach (unless Daddy went to feel you move) that I shouldn't have been surprised out what a wiggle worm you were. You always are on the move. You love to walk along furniture, crawl all the way upstairs to your room or bathroom, any where you can go you do. You were even such a wiggler when you were tiny that you got a bald spot from rubbing your head trying to look around at everything. I truly think you will be my hyperactive, sweet little boy. Man is changing your diaper a chore you don't want to slow down even to get dressed. Sometime I think I will have to hog tie you just to put the diaper on. LOL!

You are always so happy. Cason you were always so happy unless you were hungry. Then watch out. You have always had a love for food and nothing better stand in your way when you decide its time to eat. Even when you were sick and miserable with the swine flu and teething you were still always so happy. Smiling at everyone, hardly even fussing. You just love to be happy! When I see your sweet smile I can't help but smile back and even laugh. Your excitement for life is just so contagious.

"Momma, Momma, Momma" I love that Momma was your first real word and that you get so excited when you see me whether it be when I pick you from Grandma's, when I get you up from bed, or when I walk back in the room. I love that you choose me to be your first word. I was Dada with Weston for so long but you call me Momma and no one else. Daddy isn't even Momma. This just melts my heart. I think its safe to say you have wrapped me around your little finger.

You have always loved Weston. You used to get so excited just to see him. Too bad he hasn't shown that much enthusiasum for you until recently. I can tell you wont let your big brother just push you around. You are a strong personality that wont let anyone get the best of you. Though you are the complete opposite of Weston. And I didn't think I could love anyone as much I as I love your brother and your Daddy. You have shown me that I do have enough love for another. I love you so much and am so glad you picked your Daddy and I to be your parents. I love you so much! Happy First Birthday.
Love, Mommy

Swingset

We have friend who is moving and her boyfriend didn't want to move their swing set again and her son is getting a little big for it anyway. So, Jon offered to buy it. We got a smoking deal and the boys well okay just Weston so far is in HEAVEN. He loves it! Luckily it was such a nice day Saturday because he was literally out there all day. Swinging and sliding down the slide. He couldn't get enough. Cason didn't mind the slide too much but swinging wasn't the best for him because he just wanted to crawl around. Enjoy all the pictures (sorry there are a ton and the video of Weston swinging) Cason going down the slide.
