Brothers

***A few updates***

Weston and Cason have been playing together so cute every day this last week. Weston just wants Cason to do everything with him. He has been a little over bearing a few times to poor Cason. But all in all they have really gotten along. From playing hide-n-seek, playing with toy story toys, playing ring around the rosies, or eathing together. The first night they were getting along so well Weston told me he wantd Cason to sit on his chair with him. I said he had to sit in his high chair so Weston informed me that he then had to have his high chair right by him. Its been like that for every meal since that night. On Tuesday night they were so cute playing ring around the rosies forever. Enjoy one of the videos. Sorry so dark only one light was on.

Classic Fun Center

This weekend I took they boys on a playdate with my friend Melissa and her two kids to the Classic Fun Center. We had never been there before but we had a lot of fun. We got an hour in the bounce houses and two games of mini bowling, plus 20 free tokens to play arcade games all for $16. Not bad for 2 1/2 hours of fun. We did mini bowling first and Weston thought he was the coolest thing ever because he could lift the balls and throw/roll them all by himself. He even got a few spares. Weston loves bowling thanks to the Wii. Then after bowling we headed up the bounce houses. Weston is normally so cautious about them but not this time he was all over it. Going in all of them and running around and going down the slides. Now Cason who I thought would be jumping and running like a fool just wanted to be held. This was a shock but he is coming down with a cold and it was nap time. After the bounce houses we headed back down for another round of mini bowling. Then we went and used their tokens. They loved the carousel. They went on it like 5 times. Then Weston did skeeball a few times. With his tickets he bought a candy bracelet and 5 tootsie rolls. It was a lot of fun. Thanks Melissa. Christmas 2010

As per usual I have a TON of pictures so be warned picture overload. I just had a hard time narrowing them do this is the best I could do :) We had a great Christmas! I almost think its better now then when I was a kid (and I LOVED it as a kid). Seeing my boys get so excited and the light in their eyes just makes it so special. Weston was so excited for Christmas. This year he knew what it was all about. (Well the present and Santa part we are still working on it being about the birth of Christ. We did read a few books and had discussion on it but come on to a 4 year old its all about the GIFTS). To start out the Christmas week my mom, Jon, Weston, Cason and I hit up the mall to visit Santa. Weston was so good. I thought he might be scared but he was a champ. He got right up and told Santa he wanted a new fire engine and a new James. Now this panicked me as I hadn't bought either of those things. He is in no need of a fire engine as his is perfect but his James train did break. So for the last week before Christmas my mom and I were on a look out for James. Needless to say we didn't find it. Oh well. He was fine. That week, Cason and Weston were going on days 8-9 of the flu. I had had enough of puke and poop. The doctor said it was just the strain going around and they weren't dehydrated so we just had to wait it out. Luckily they both were better by the eve of Christmas eve. We made frosted cookies (as Weston calls them), fudge, and chocolate chip cookies for our neighbors and Santa of course. Needless to say I gained a ton! On Christmas Eve my mom came up and we had a nice pork loin, shrimp, and cheese ball for dinner with just us at our house. I wanted to make sure the kids got to bed early so they wouldn't be grumpy for Christmas day. We watched The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (in cartoon and Jim Carrey) and just enjoyed each others company. I had found yahtzee and Weston beat our trash. He kept getting yahtzee! When it was time for bed, Cason and Weston opened one present each from Grandma a new pair of pj's. Then Weston wrote a note to Santa and set out his cookies and milk. It was so cute. He was so excited. I then had to read him two Christmas books. Jon, my mom and I played Monopoly for an hour or so until we were sure Weston was asleep then we set up all the presents. Weston said he hoped Santa put them under the tree so that is where we put them. Weston posing by the tree on Christmas eve.
We had to take a picture with Weston and the "big" present he was just barely taller then it.

Weston came into our room at about 4:30 and asked if Santa had come. This is the first year that he has been so excited he couldn't sleep. I remember many sleepless nights waiting for Santa. So Jon and I let him crawl into bed with us. He didn't doze off to sleep until about 6. Cason was up at 7:30 and that is all Weston needed to hear to pop out of bed. I must admit I was pretty excited to as I couldn't wait to see if they loved their gifts. Here are the boys piles of presents.

Weston opening the first present of Christmas. It was so funny when he opened it he just saw the back of it and he exclaimed, "A NEW BUZZ!" He was so excited. Too bad it was really just a Toy Story fishing game. Which he loved anyway and he did get a new Buzz too but he was more excited the first time lol. At first Cason wasn't too into opening presents but then he definitely got the hang of it. They both were totally spoiled by Santa and Grandma but they were so excited about each present. Well minus the clothes. It was such a blast. We didn't get done opening presents until about 10:30 because they had to take turns with each other. It was a really nice morning. Jon made the BEST breakfast it was DELICIOUS for sure.

Cason had to keep eating cookies it was so funny. Notice the green cookie and the present?
Weston and I, I had this turned but I guess it turned back, don't notice the no makeup :)
Us checking out the NEW Buzz very cool.
The boys finally got to open the power wheel jeep they got from my mom. Cason I think liked it the most.

After breakfast we all got ready to go to Jon's grandparents for dinner. Before we left I had to get a picture of my adorable little family. Sorry I am totally biased.
We had a nice luner (lunch/dinner) at Jon's grandparents. Then we went downstairs to open presents and visit. Afterwards we came home and the boys got to ride in the jeep. Weston loved driving Cason around. Cason can't reach the peddle yet so he has to really on Weston for a "ride" and he asks often. Then we all munched and sat down to watch Despicable Me. It was a fantastic Christmas!
Going for a ride in my kitchen good thing its big :)

Layton Christmas Party

*****LOTS OF UPDATES CHECK THEM ALL OUT*****
Since my Grandma Layton passed away the holidays haven't been the same and this year was the MOST different. But it was still fun just not like the parties of my youth. My Grandpa and his wife decided to have our Christmas party at Chuck-a-rama. I know right? We usually have a great spaghetti dinner. Not this year. So we met at the Chuck a rama in Ogden last Saturday and half the family wasn't even there. Because of work and other commitments. My Aunt Michelle, Uncle Dean, cousins Kylee (her husband Sam), Jordan, Landon, Shelby, and my Aunt Sue were the only ones there when we got there. Because we had a high chair we had to sit on the end. Sue sat with us but we felt a little excluded from the rest of the group but what can you do? When we were all done eating my Aunt Lor her husband Lee, and my cousins Jenn, James and their kids came. They filled in the gap in the table. They we did a white elephant gift. If was fun. I got a candle. Jon got a box of chocolates, Cason got coloring books and crayons, and Weston got a box of hot chocolate mixes and cups and you may think of bummer. But not Weston he LOVES hot chocolate so he was THRILLED! Weston was the present hander outter or so he thought. And everyone was sweet enough to let him open their gifts. Then you had the opportunity to steal someone elses present once. No one stole ours luckily. It was a pretty nice time just not what I grew up with and I definitely miss our old parties. Oh well time to grow up I guess. Weston's present
Aunt Sue helping him open it.
On a side not it was so cute that Weston was my Grandpa's little buddy he hung out with him for most of the dinner.
Me on the way there. I get sick of no pictures of me so I randomly post some now and again. Sorry!

Gingerbread House

Weston had read a Christmas book that had a gingerbread house in it so he got the idea he wanted to make his own. We were at Walmart a few days later and of course Grandma had to oblige. He got his "candy house" as he likes to call it and was so excited to make if for days. So finally last Saturday we made the candy house. Don't mind the scary pictures of me. Now you know what I look like in the morning with no makeup scary scary sight. Doing the windows
Weston decorating the window.
The final product. He did a great job and I must admit this was my first attempt at one as well. Notice the candy cane fence. Weston was insistent on that.

He was having such a blast
Stopping to pose for a picture or two.
What a stud. Him and Cason have been known to steal a few pieces from our house. We no longer have a bush outside the front door. And part of the fence is gone.

O Christmas Tree

As you know we always have to have a live tree, and Jon always has to cut down his own tree. It really is fun going out in the cold and finding what we think is the perfect Christmas tree then cutting it down. Our tree stays alive much longer and we can get a HUGE tree for so much cheaper. This year Weston was so excited to go and pick out his Christmas tree and decorate it. We had decorated the house a week earlier and Weston was such a helper. Cason on the other hand was such a helper at undecorating the house. So Weston had been asking everyday when we would get our tree. But we had to wait until a Saturday because it is dark by the time Jon gets home from work. On Saturday we bundled up and went tree hunting. We tried a new place this year. It was a little more picked over but after a lot of going back and forth we found our tree. Here it is:Jon and Weston making the final selection.
Getting ready to chop her down.
Weston posing with his tree.
Cason feel asleep on the way to getting the tree. He looked so grumpy falling asleep.
Weston all ready to go.
The finished product. Isn't she beautiful? Weston kept telling me it wasn't beautiful yet because he hadn't put all the ornaments up. When we finally got everything up then he said it was beautiful. It was so neat to tell him about each ornament and have him understand the importance of them. And then he was trying to tell Cason. How sweet is that?

My little decorator.
(don't mind the pj pants that clash withi his shirt lol)
