Finally Christmas 2011

I admit I have been an uberslack when it comes to blogging.  I mean really Christmas in the end of March.  Come on lady.  But better late then not at all.  This year Christmas was super laid back.  On Christmas Eve my mom and her friend Erin came over and we ate pork spagetti, shrimp, veggies, cookies and much much more.  We all played games and watched Christmas movies.  Later in the evening Jon and I gave the boys their presents from us and my mom gave them their Christmas jammies.

Here is Cason opening his cell phone from us.  He loved it.  (don't you love the hunch position and the drool?)

Weston has been loving all things pirate so at Hobby Lobby when I found this treasure chest I had to get it.  I filled with coins and jewels.
Getting ready to open their jammies.
The boys in their cute jammies with their new toys.  Weston even had to sleep with his chest.
Is this not the cutest picture of Cason?
The note to Santa and cookies, yum!
Stocking and the loot from Santa.
I wasn't the greatest at taking pictures this year.  The boys and I were super excited to see what Santa had brought.  Weston ran to the stairs and then ran back into our room yelling, "he came, he came, Santa came!"  It is so fun being a mommy!!!!!!
The boys opening their first gifts.  Their expressions are killing me ha.
Cason had been totally pinning for a scooter since Halloween when a boy in my class taught him how to ride his.  So the last present he openned was the scooter.  He is amazing at it.
All Weston asked for was a Utah Utes outfit (smart boy) here he is all decked out.  He wouldn't let me turn his jersey around he wanted to see the number.
Weston couldn't wait to play with his race track.  I loved the jersey he wore it all day and for several days afterward.
Don't you just love the cars care lined up to watch the race?
After presents, Jon made us a delicious breakfast casserole.  Then we all got dressed and went to my school because it was such a warm day and snowless we went and drove his truck around in the dirt piles by my school.  We then came home and Jon's dad came over we exchanged presents.  Ate some more and more and more.  It didn't feel like Christmas in a lot of ways.  I miss my big family get togethers that is for sure.  But it was still a really nice day.  I sure love my family aand celebrating the holidays with them.

Monster good time

Cason's 3rd birthday party was so much fun to plan and SOOOO much work. I decided to do a monster theme.  I am not creative in anyway shape or form every amazing thing you see here is something that I have found on pinterest. (Love love love that website).  I had the stupid grand idea to make each individual kid a stuffed monster.  These are the finished product.
I think they turned out so cute.

This ths the birthday table.  Don't mind the picture of Jon and I that was replaced with a picture of Cason.  But I love how his birthday banner turned out I made the banner and the cute little monsters on the sides of the words.  I wanted to make monster cupcakes and they turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.
This was my other super smart idea.  I feel like whenever I make cakes they aren't as moist as store bought ones maybe its the altitude or I over mix who knows.  So I asked a friend who has a baking business for a recipe.  That was the easy part.  The cake took a lot of steps it was really sticky and its was SO DRY!!!!  It tasted delicious like sugar cookie dough but totally dry.  Then the cupcakes I used a mix but read applesauce makes them moister and healthier.  Ha!  Mine weren't that dry but they just tasted like applesauce so next year remind me to just buy them and if I still have the dying need to decorate them I will.
The monster cake that looks like an alien.
Then I also found on pinterst these cute playdough monsters.  So I went and bought playdough then wrapped them in paper and painted monster facees on them as goodies.
We played a pin the eye on the monster game.  This is the monster I painted.
I wanted Cason to wear a monster shirt so I made him a shirt that matched the monsters that we gave the kids.
When the kids got there they were to make monster masks and make monster buckets to put their goodies in.  I think they turned out cute though no one even wore the masks ha, oh well they were entertained.
This was me explaining how to play the game and the men watching the basketball game.
Cason did this after he finished his turn.
Some of the other boys taking their turns.
My handsome Weston waiting for his turn.  And what our monster looked like after kids had their turns.
Openning presents.  Weston and his cute friend Ashton always crowd whoever is opening presents.  This party was no different.  We had to keep telling them to back off.  Cason was so into his present this year it was so fun.  He got great gifts!
Opening the farting gak the boys had a riot with that and I couldn't help giggling as well with them.

Grandma got Cason his own new bike.  He calls it his motorcycle.  Cason will sit on it forever making motorcycle noises and ringing the bell.
Singing Happy Birthday to Cason.
Cason blowing out the candles.  He didn't know what to do with them at first.
Everyone enjoying their cupcakes.
We had so much fun and I still can't believe my handsome little guy is 3.  How does time keep passing so fast?

Dear Cason

Dear Cason,
Today you are 3 years old.  I can't believe how fast these last few years have gone.  You are the funniest, silliest, craziest boy.  You are calm most of the time but you are ALWAYS on the move.  You astonish my daily by how mechanical you are.  You just love to look at how things work and ae put together you.  Cason you would by far rather look at a motorcycle, car, truck, bike whatever then play with toys.  For your birhtday your Dad suggested to take you to Layton Cycle to look at the bikes because we knew that would jus be heaven for you.  Weston adores you and though you two sometimes fight he would do anything for you.  He has been being the sweettest brother to you  and though he sometimes smoothers you, you are prompt to yell, "Bubba leave me alone!"  You are completely 100% in love with your blankie and nuk still we can't leave any where without them.  Cason you have been totally different from your brother but yet I wouldn't have it any other way.  I am so in love with you!  You make me so happy when you ay out of no where, " Mom, I wove you!"  I wove you too Casey Roo!!!!
Love Mommy and Daddy

Bouncy Crazy Legs

On December 1, 2011 Bouncy Crazy Legs joined our family for 24 days. He arrived one night in a box on our front porch and stole our hearts. The boys loved waking up to find where Bouncy was that day. I can't even tell you how many times a day that Weston would run to the front door to see if Bouncy had left a box. If they were good they got a box with a treat and a note. I loved having something to threaten the boys with ha. As Bouncy would go back to the NorthPole at night to tell Santa if the boys were good or not. There is only one day Weston almost didn't get a box but I admit for the most part they were really GOOD. On Christmas Eve he had to go in his box to return to Santa the boys were so sad to see him leave. As was I. He was so much fun.

Temple Square

My mom and I used to go to Temple Square every year when I was little and then we haven't been for years. I went with my Aunt when I was pregnant with Cason and haven't been since. So this year my mom and I decided we would go. It was freezing so we bundled up in tons of layers and took the frontrunner and TRAX down. Weston only liked the train because he was STARVING so he didn't like the lights he said. Cason said he loved the lights and the trains. It was pretty but I remember it being so much more maybe it was just me.
