Cason's 5th Birthday

Cason's Birthday started off with Weston and I coming in and singing Happy Birthday to Cason and throwing Balloons on him  I am not going to lie he was a grump that morning.  Cason said he wasn't ready to wake up and that 5 year olds needs more sleep.
But he perked up once he knew presents were involved.  Weston was so excited about his present and he picked it special just for Cason.  It was a power rangers sword.
Cason has suddenly been into power rangers and he loves costumes.  So Jon and I got him a power rangers costume.
Of course he had to immediately put it on.
Cason got to spend a day with just him and Grandma.  They had breakfast then she took him to walmart where he got to pick out  present he wanted.  Afterwards they had lunch at McDonalds.  Then they went home and played with his new toys.

When I got home from work we went to iceberg for ice cream.  Then Cason got to pick out some cupcakes.  Jon got home early and we all went to see The Lego Movie.  Everything about that movie was awesome!  We all really liked it.  After the movie we got dinner and came home.  Cason said he had an awesome day!!

For his birthday party we went a few days later to The Treehouse Museum in Ogden.  Its so fun.  Its like the Children's Museum just has a little more educational link to it.  I normally have the parties at our house but we are currently remodeling and our house just wasn't going to be ready in time for his party.  So he picked the museum out of classic and the nickelcaide.

For Christmas I signed my mom up for a cake decorating class so she wanted to make Cason's cake.  So I searched pinterest for ideas then had Cason pic his favorite.  This is what he picked.

Below is what my mom and I came up with.  We made the cakes from scratch but when it came to the frosting we ordered it from the bakery.  My mom did most of it.  All I did was the blue, the 5's and the words on the top.  My mom did the rest.  Also if anyone has tips on how to get the frosting that bright do tell.

I think it turned out great and it was so good.

For his goody bags.  I had my class color masks for the front when they finished work and then cut out cardstock masks for inside the bag.  I also gave them power ranger disc shooters, tattoos, and glower stick bracelets.
We just had everyone play while we waited fro everyone to arrive.  Once everyone arrived we saw a fun version of the three little bears.  Two of our friends got to be in the play.  Ashton and Koda were seven dwarfs.

After the play we met back up in our room for cake and presents.

Uncle Jimmy thought it would be great fun to wrap Cason's present in duck tape.  We left that for last and needless to say it took awhile.  I am actually proud of Cason for not getting frustrated with it.

Thank you to Auntie Kim for helping him get it out.

Rhees and Parker (above pic) gave him an angry birds track to shoot his car out of
The Spackman's got him two dirt bikes (below pic) and a gift card
The Morfin's got him a cool Hulk mask
Amanda and kids got him money to buy whatever he wants
The Gilboys got him a cool motorcycle outfit and a dusty airplane from Planes
Jimmy and Jenn got him a transformer guy
After presents and cake the kids were able to play for awhile longer.  Here is some of the fun pics we got.
Dr. Weston, he loves the nursery section.  Maybe he will take after his grandpa and work in the NICU.

Astronaut Cason.  I just love this pic for some reason.  It just makes me smile.

Taylyn eating trains and snuggling with Auntie Kim.

Cason and Tay in their fishing boat.  Cason is throwing the net overboard to catch fish.

President Weston and Cason in the oval office.

Cason has always loved the firetruck and dressing up as the firefighter.
I think Cason had a great party and it was so easy for me.  He had a few moments of grumpiness but we work through them and had a great day.  Happy 5th Birthday my big guy.
