2 months

Taylyn turned two months old on September 11.  We went in for her two month check the day before.  Here are her stats:

Weight: 10.13 pounds 37%

Height: 23 inches 74%

Head: 14 inches 10%

She had her DTAP shot, and rotovirus.  We will do the rest in about a week or so.  She did very well.  Taylyn gave a cry when she got her shot but once I picked her up she was perfect.    

 

 

 

 

Diaper: Newborn and size 1 (though size 1 is too big)

Clothes:  Newborn and size 0-3

Sleep:  She is sleeping about 4-6 hours at a time at night.  She eats and goes back for another 3 hours or so.

Accomplishment:  Tay started smiling at 6 weeks and gives even more smiles now.  She began cooing a lot right around her two month mark.  She tracks me and gives me the biggest smile when she sees me.  Totally melts my heart.

Taylyn's Second Baby Shower

My sweet friend Sheena threw me the cutest baby shower.  It was pink, turquoise and owl themed. 

These are the super cute invitations she made. 

 She made the yummiest chicken salad sandwiches I have ever tasted.

Look at this super, adorable owl cupcake cake she had made at walmart.  I was so in love with it I almost didn't want to eat it.  Seriously so cute!

Don't mind how fat I am in this picture please.  Here are my two sweet friends Melanie who I went to college with and my friend Jessica who I have been friends with since elementary school.

This is my friend Kristen who I have known since birth.  Her mom and my mom were best friends so we were good friends as kids.  In this picture Jennifer (my brother in laws girlfriend) dropped her cupcake on the floor and we were joking about her having to lick it up since I had just cleaned the whole house :)

This is Sheena's mom Bonnie, and her sister Chelsie, and Chelsie's cutie Ellie.  It was so fun to see Chelsie she was in for the weekend from Hawaii.

 We played two fun games.  The first one was where you put different chocolate bars into diapers and melt them and then you have to guess the candy.  Kristen won that game.  The second game we played was where everyone guessed how big they though my belly was with string and Chelsie guessed EXACTLY that right amount.  Then we got to open gifts.  I got the CUTEST clothes for Taylyn.

 Cannot wait until next summer for her to be able to wear this.

 Jon's brother and his girlfriend gave me these swaddle blankets I was obsessed with getting.  they were perfect for the summer heat.

 Mom went overboard on presents.  Look how cute these boots are!  So adorable.

 

This soft blanket was also from my mom.  She also gave me much much more.

It was fun to visit with my sweet friends, play some games, and eat yummy food.  Thank you again Sheena for throwing me such a nice shower.

Dagoon

When I was 36 weeks pregnant we went up to Heber City to spend the night at my Aunt Kim's house.  It was a lot of fun.  We took her side by side up the road into the mountains and had a nice picnic.  I was so pretty up there and Kim always has delicious food and when your preggo food is everything.  Heck who am I kidding food is always everything :) Then we went had a nice dinner outside and had smores.  The boys slept outside in the tent with my aunt and my cousin while I stayed in the nice comfortable house.  This was the first day my feet swelled during my pregnancy.  They never really went down the rest of my pregnancy.  The next day my aunt and uncle were having their work party at Lagoon for their employees and she invited us along.  How could I say no.  I knew it would be hot and miserable for me but Cason loves Dagoon or Lagoon.  So we went.  Last spring I took the boys and freaked Weston out on a high ride (the ladybug drop) and he hated Lagoon after that.  So we started out calmly.  We did about 3 rides on the carousel.

Luckily Weston ended up loving it and I was able to go on this ride with them.  Look at those smiles!

Next we headed to the boats.

The shared most rides at first.  I think Weston needed the comfort of his brother.  Cason is so adventurous he was up for any ride.

When at the zoo or lagoon you always have to ride the train.

The boys loved the bumper cars they thought the were the greatest. 

A funny story about the above ride.  It was Lagoon's new ride and it looked too fast for Weston so he told Cason to go on it first and tell him how it was.  Which is so funny because Cason loves all rides so of course he was going to get off and say he loved it.  Silly Weston!  As you can see he ended up loving it he gave me the thumbs up.

This is how my feet looked midway through the day in 90+ heat at 36 weeks.  They really hurt when I got home.  But it was so worth it.  The boys were able to pretty much walk onto any ride so no waiting and they were able to do all their favorites over and over.  The best part is I restored Weston's love in Lagoon.

As you can see we wore Cason out.  He was out before I even left the parking lot.  Thank you Auntie Kim for such a great time.

4th of July

For the 4th we usually go out of town but with me being 37 weeks pregnant we figured it would be better to be around town since Cason was born at 37 weeks.  We decided to go boating.  We went up to Rockport and went boating with my mom for the day.  It was so nice to be up in the mountains were is was cooler.  Getting in and out of the boat was quite the challenge for sure.  Then we came home and had a BBQ.  After the BBQ we went to the park to watch the states best firework show.  And of course they didn't disappoint.  It was a really nice day.  And no baby came :)

First Day of First Grade

Weston started his first day of first grade in Mrs. Taylor's class.  Because I have to be in my class for the first day of school to meet all my new kiddos I can never take Weston.  That means Daddy has first day duty and Jon does a pretty awesome job.  Here is a picture of him outside his class bulletin board.  Don't let the lack of smile fool you he was excited.

 

Daddy even did a good job at going in and getting a picture of him at his desk.  I didn't even tell him to do this.  His teacher was sweet enough to move his buddy, Nathan up to sit next to him.  Most of his kindergarten and soccer friends are in different classes.  Luckily he has made a lot of new friends.

 

 

He was most excited to have lunch at school and have more recesses. 

Weston is doing great with his reading and spelling so far!  Let's hope he has a successful first grade year.
