Easter 2011

So a month later and I am finally posting about Easter. Easter was so much fun this year. Weston knew all about eggs, the bunny, the basket all of it (we are workign on the Savior part) and Cason was all about doing whatever Weston did. To start the Easter weekend. My mom, Jon's dad, Jon, Weston, Cason and I took the boys to Fisher Park Saturday for the city's egg hunt. Cason got the most eggs thanks to Grandma and Papa. Weston got about 4 eggs but we lucked out the boys also got enough tickets to get two big balls, a bug house, and 3 bath toys. Then my mom and I took the boys to get the food we would need for our Sunday dinner. We went to Macey's and they were giving away free sugar cookies that they boys could frost. Cason was a blue mess when he was finished. Weston still keeps asking when we get to go to the cookie store again.

Weston hard a work decorating his egg Cason after he ate his cookie.

Then we came home and put Cason down for a nap and Weston, my mom and I dyed eggs. Weston did such a great job this year. He loved coloring the egg with the crayon and then dying them.

My mom decorating an egg.Me and my little decoratorWeston was so willing to go to bed so that he could wake up and see what the bunny had brought him. I didn't want to wake Cason up so I had Weston snuggle in bed. He was really good about waiting patiently for his brother to wake up. He kept telling me how excited he was to see the basket and find his eggs.

The boys each got a cake egg with their names on them. These are the foot prints the bunny left on our porch when he came into our house.Weston checking them out.My Aunt Kim, Uncle Colin and cousin Sean came over for dinner. We had a delicious ham dinner, with rolls, jello, deviled eggs, veggies, and salad. It was so good. Kim also brought strawberry shortcake and I made an upside down pineapple cake. Then Weston and Sean took turns hiding Easter eggs for each other. It was a very fun day!

Broken Arm

About a month ago Cason and Weston were playing on Weston's bed and hopping around and hiding etc. Typical boy things to do. I was curling my hair when low and behold I hear a thump and then a cry. I run down the hall and Cason is laying flat on his face crying and not moving at the foot of Weston's bed. I ran to him to hold him. I was so worried about a concussin. It was his nap time but I wasn't about to let him take a nap. I held him in my arms and rocked him for about an hour and he was just acting very weird then after about an hour he took off and was playing with Weston again but he was still grumpy all day and he wouldn't move his right arm at all. I expressed my concern that he might have broken his arm. Jon pooped my worry and we put him to bed. The next morning (Monday he still wouldn't move his arm). So I made an appointment to have his arm looked at. Can I just tell you how much it killed me to be at work and not at the doctors with Cason. Since I was already at work when I decided he needed to go to the doctors its really hard to find a sub late like that I had to work. My mom had strict instructions to call me the minute she knew anything. Well turns out he buckled his right wrist in two places when he fell. He had to get a cast put on for a month. My mom said he was so good for the doctor and very still for the nurse putting on his cast. Now that is a miracle because to be honest is such a mover and daredevil I am sort of surprised this is the first broken arm he has gotten. But was in pain the first few days and frustrated he couldn't move his hand like he was used to but after 3 days he was right back to doing everything and trying to jump on the bed again. Here are some pictures when I brought him home after getting the cast put on.

Of course a cast didn't stop his affinity for playing with vacuums.

Don't mind the wet shirt I had to get him a trat for being a big boy and he got it all over himself.

Bathing him is fun. Lol I have to put a bag on his arm and put him in the sink. Needless to say he doesn't get the daily baths he used to.

On the 9th of May we do to check and see if the cast can come off.

Spring Break Zoo

The only nice day during Spring Break I took the boys to the zoo with my friend Jessica and her daughter Annyson. We had fun. Weston was more interested on going on the train and carosel that he barely paid attention to the animals. So we looked at all the animals went on the carasel and then the train. After the train, Jessica and her daughter left. We had a nice picnic and then we relooked at the animals. Cason loved the monkeys and the meerkats. Weston says the elephants and the giraffes were his favorite. It was a nice day and it was so fun to see the boys both so excited about the animals. Cason feel asleep on the way there. Notice the socks on his hands as mittens. He kills me sometimes.

They are just studs what can I say :)

Cason's second birthday party

Cason turned 2 on March 12 and for the first time for either of my kids we got to have his birthday party on his birthday. I say an owl themed party when I was planning Weston's birthday in October and decided that was what I wanted to do for Cason's party. I had so much fun planning his party. I would love to be a party planner too bad I am not creative just good at copying ideas. I spent Monday through Thursday 4+ hours a night making stuffed owls as party favors I thought they were going to be the death of me. Everything took a lot of work but it was so worth it everything turned out great.
Cason's invitation: I found a lady who made this adorable owl hat for him The mantal decorations. This owl I made for Cason for Christmas. The whole mantal deorated. I made the birthday banner there are little owls on the ones with the letters, h,p,b and a so it was hard to see those letters but I loved how it turned out.
Cason has been OBSESSED with my mom's vaccum and ours for a few weeks. So we bought him a dirt devil kids vaccum. He loves it!!!

Mommy's big helper!
My friend Brandi found the cutest cake and cupcakes made as owls and sent me the picture this is how mine turned out. I had so much fun decorating these.
I had like 40 cupcakes we had them for days afterwards :)
I made these paper pom poms and a lady I work with had these cute owl die cuts and tiered trays she let me borrow. We had chicken salad sandwiches on croissants, jello, chips and dip, and veggies and dip with punch for lunch.
These are the party favors I made. I ended up with like 7 extras. Oh well I would rather over prepare the under.
The food spread!
Me two years post baby
My cute little goof ball
This is Weston and our friend Koda, he is 7 months younger then Weston and look how much taller he is then Weston. Poor Weston got my shortness.
Me and cute Ashton
The kids playing with balloons I was really low key this time I didn't plan too many games for the kids but they just had fun playing around.
Cason getting sung too. He wasn't sure about those candles and ended up touching one of them. He didn't know he was supposed to blow out the candles so Great Grandpa had to help him out.

Cason after eating his cupcake. He is such a messy eater.
Cason was excited to open his first present but Weston and his buddy (as he calls him) Ashton were so eager they kept crowding Cason and he did not like that one bit. He ended up running away so we had to open presents on the run. He sure does love his space.
He got building blocks, a microphone, lots of super cute clothes, a few books, a baseball t and some money.
Weston loved the microphone he uses it to announce when he is playing sports I wouldn't be suprised if Weston becomes a sports announcer.
See the eager beavers closing in on Cason while Great Grandma helped him open presents?
My mom bought him his own tricycle. He hasn't quite got the hang of it yet but Weston loves it lol.
There they are again :)

This is Cason playing with the t ball he got he really hasn't gotten to play with it as Weston loves it and plays with it for hours on end. Weston sure is glad Cason had a birthday so he could get so many new toys.
Look at Weston's hand on his hip telling me somehting serious!
crusing around
Don't you just love the owl shirt I made him?
The party was a great success if I do say so myself lol and it kills me that my baby is so big!
