5 Years

Today Jon and I got married 5 years ago. Sometimes I can't believe its only been 5 years and then there are times that 5 years doesn't seem like long enough :) If you know me and Jon very well you know that we have had a really rough 2011. And honestly I didn't think Jon and I were going to make it to this anniversary. But I can say without any reservations that I am the happiest with him I have been in a long time. I think the trials that we have gone through lately have helped us to be a better, stronger couple. I am so thankful to have him as my life companion. Here is to 10 times as many years. I love you so much Jon! Jon and I were engaged on Halloween 2005. And I got pregnant in January 2006. I really didn't want to get married fat and pregnant. Little did I know I wouldn't show until 6-7 months and that we would get married when I was 9 months pregnant. So I was putting off getting married. Then we didn't want to have a baby and not be married. So on September 15, 2006 we got married in the Farmington Courthouse. Then on September 15, 2007 we did what I like to call our real wedding. These are when these pictures were taken.

Our beautiful family at our 1 year anniversary.

I just love this bottom picture!

Brother Thomas Kay who has been my Grandparents home teacher for forever lol did our ceremony.

Since my dad is no longer with us my Grandpa walked me down the aisle it was so special to me.

I made Jon promise not to smash it into my face.

Here I am reminding him of his promise.

Cutting the cake. I loved that cake and it tasted so GOOD!

Refinishing

Two years ago Jon's boss' mother in law passed away and they gave us this coffee table. I put it in my formal living room and I have not loved the way it looked all two years it was in there. So finally this summer I refinished it. Here is what I did.

This is the before picture

To get all the old stain of I stripped it with a gel stripper. It was a pain in the bum! It took me like all day one day. I think next time I would just sand and then use paint with a god primer or put a primer on first.

I then painted two coats of cream paint on the lower half. The paint also had a primer in it. Then I lightly sanded where I wanted a shabby look and then put a coat of stain all over the cream wiping it off as I went. Then I put two coats of stain on the top that also had a polyurethane in it. I didn't wipe it off the top.

Here is the finished product. I also got new knobs! I love how great it turned out. Don't you?

widowmaker

For the last 3 or 4 years we have gone to the widowmaker. Jon is good friends with the family that runs the widowmaker so we always get free tickets. Our friends son was riding in the junior widowmaker so that was fun to see.

Weston loved looking through the binoculars. Jon and Cason watching the runs

24th of July

Another reasonwhy I love July is because of Pioneer Day. Utah was founded in July. So every 24th of July there is a big celebration in Utah. In Bountiful where I grew up there is always a parade and then little carnval at the park. We usually never miss it and this year was no exception. Friday afternoon my mom and the boys and I went to the carnival first. We got sno cones, tigers paws or fried bread with cinamion, and cotton candy. The boys got to do some fun rides.

We then headed over to watch the parade with my best friend from high school, Rachel's family.

Temperance, Rachel's baby isn't she adorable, if she is ever missing don't look at my house :)

We had a fun 24th of July, when Jon came home from Idaho we had a BBQ and then we did the last of our firemen (fireworks) and sparklers (sprinklers)

dentist

Weston and I went to the dentist in the end of June. Can I just say Weston has come along way. The first time he went here, now he is like old hat at it. IN fact he loves the dentist so much he tells me he wants to be a dentist and he has to carry his goodie bag everywhere days. The dentist and hygenist were just in stiches laughing at the things he said while there. What can I say he is quite the quick funny boy. Here are pictures. NO cavaties. Well I had a small one :( but none for West.
