Goodbye nuk

Cason has accomplished a VERY big task.  He has become weaned from his nuk (pacifier).  This little boy has loved to suck since he was a newborn.  He wanted to use me as a human pacifer then he tried to suck his thumb.  I figured if we go him to take a nuk then it would be easy to get rid of then a thumb.  Oh man this has been a struggle.
Everywhere we went two things had to go with us his nuk and his blanket.
Every picture I tried to take include the nuk.  The nuk provided him great comfort but was ultimately becoming the enemy.  He would throw collasal fits when he couldn't find it.  Jon and I were going insane.  Finally we told him we would buy no more.  When the ones we had were gone he would be out of luck.  There would be no more.  The day finally came when there were none.  He was upset but I let him snuggle to sleep in my bed.  The next night was hard he cried himself to sleep but after that the nuk has been forgotten.  He asks about it from time to time but his 3+ year love affair with his nuk if FINALLY over.  Now when I take pictures of him this is the beautiful face I see.
And what a handsome face it is!!!!!!

Labor Day in Idaho

This year school didn't start until the weekend after Labor Day.  So when Jon wanted to go to his boss' cabin in Idaho I was dreading slightly hesitance since I knew I would have a lot to get done before we could go at school.  But some how I got most of it done and we headed up to Idaho Friday afternoon.  The night before we left I came down with a cold.  I had no energy at all but we got ready and left.  We had a nice time.  We rode four wheelers to the boys content, we played with friends in the rain, had a pinata, had as many s'mores as we could and fished.  It was a nice weekend.  A nice break to get me ready to start a new year and Weston to start his first year of school.
Enjoying the quiet to catch up on some reading.  And because of the rain it was nice a cool.  Perfect weather.
Chris (Jon's boss' wife) bought a pinata and filled with candy and little toys for the kids.  They had fun breaking it and getting the goodies. Look how cute the pinata was.
Saige taking her turn at trying to break the pinata.
Now Avery's turn.
Weston gave some great old whacks but didn't quite get it done.

Finally the pinata broke and the kids got to get all the goodies.

We have spent the last 5 years or so at the cabin for Labor Day.  Its always so pretty up in Swan Valley it was a nice time for sure.  Can't wait until next year.

And I cried yet again at school.....

To start this post I have to say Weston has the most AMAZING kindergarten teacher.  I am so thankful he goes to my school so I can talk with his teachers and pick them personally.  I love his teacher and so does he.  Everyday he comes home raving about school and how much he loves his teacher.  He has learned so much in the short two weeks of school.  The problem lies in his nystagmus and his eyesight.  I was talking to his teacher and she mentioned that he holds the paper really close to cut which isn't bad in itself.  But then she mentioned when she writes on the board and then he has to copy it on his paper he will do a word then ask what's next.  But when she writes it on his desk he copies it just fine.  It can be too things.  1. He can't see the board which is what it most likely is or 2. He forgets the letter from when he looks at the board and then has to refocus his eyes to write.  I am glad she told me so that we can work with him.  I just hate thinking how school and life is going to be for Weston.  I know how much I use my screen and my board.  I walked to my class and called Jon and of course started crying yet again at school.  I am going to keep talking with his teacher and seeing how things go.  Get better glasses in January.  Talk with his opthamaligist.  And keep doing research.  Being a mommy is TOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!1

Its begun again

We found out about 4 days before his first game that soccer had began again. Weston loved soccer in the spring and has been super excited to start again. We got up eary to get up tot he field for his 9:30 game. Jon was bow hunting so it was just my mom and the boys. Weston was so psyched because his team color was red. When he got his uniform he was like I am red like the Utes. (yep he's mine). Let's just say that Weston wasn't the greatest player on his team in the spring. He ofte couldn't follow the ball and when he kicked he missed the ball. But I was so PROUD at how he did today. He stayed with all the kids. Got right in there and got a lot of great kicks in. I was thrilled.  With the boys' eye condition I worry about him missing out on things because he can't see.  T-ball was a challenge for him when he was in the outfield  And the sun made it hard to see with soccer.  But my heart swelled today with how well he did :)  Here is to a new season with the Red Dragons.
Practicing before the game.

I told him I wanted a pictur and this is the pose I got ha.
This is how Cason spent most of the game.

Weston is number 2

Hogle Zoo

This week was my last week off with the boys so of course we had to jam pack it full of fun. Right?  On Monday we went to the Hogle zoo.  I wanted to wait until the new exhibit Rocky Shores was finished before we went hence why we waited until the end of summer to go.  We had fun.  I bought pizza from little ceasers then we went up.  Cason's favorite was the gorillas and Westons was the giraffes and the train.  I miss the penguins I mean really who gets rid of the penguins.  I guess they will be bringing back the lions in the next few years so that will be cool!  And where did the hippo go?  Beware photo overload.

the mama and baby elephant who isn't such a baby anymore

Weston and I because were cute :)

This gorilla was Cason's favorite we spent 20 minutes with him and we had to go back twice

The reason the boys and Cason loved him so much was because he was eating reading a magazine.  The boys thought that was so cool he was reading.  It was pretty cool.  We had to o back twice because the time we came back he was sleeping and Cason wasn't pleased with that.  Then we went back and he was reading again.

Weston is as tall as a juvenile gorilla.
The river otters were so cute I just love otters and sea lions.

Are zoo finally got bears back, a polar bear and two or three grizzlies.

I could watch the sea lions or hours.
Aren't these two so stinking cute?

We then played in the playground.  Weston convinced me to get in the eggshell with them.

Of course what is any zoo trip without a trip on the train,

Weston took this photo of himself in the bathroom gotta love that boy!
I also love me some meerkats.

That was our zoo adventure.  I don't know when we will be back as they are closing the train in the fall until 2014 and doing more construction.  Booo!  We had a great time!
