7 months

What I am 7 months?

Taylyn turned 7 months old on February 11th so I am a bit behind on this post considering she just turned 8 months old.  Ha oh well better late then never right?

Look at the comparison between 1 month and 7 months with the owl.

She has been working on sitting up in her chair playing with her toys all month.

Finally this weekend though just days before turning 8 months she finally mastered sitting on her own.
I had the hardest time getting her to want to sit still for pictures since the boys were playing dinosaurs right by her.  So instead of fighting it I thought why not just bringing them over.  She just loved this tall t-rex that is as big as she is.

Taylyn has learned to blow raspberries really well.  Here is her in action blowing one.  She is so funny out of now where you will just hear her blowing them.

Look at her intently focusing on the dinosaurs.

A few days after she turned 7 months she won Queen in the Beehive Beauty Pageant's Valentine's Pageant.  It was fun.  But I think we may retire after she has won queen twice in a row.  :)

I've been giving her more and more solids.  One morning she got to have some pancakes.  Needless to say this girl loves her food and pancakes were a hit.

The love affair between Weston and Tater continues.  She still thinks he brothers are the greatest.  Tay also loves to steal people's glasses as evident in this picture.

weight:  I had to take her in to be weighted because her pediatrician was concerned about her weight gain.  She was 12.5 which was almost a pound gain in a months so he wasn't too concerned anymore.

accomplishments:  Learned to sit, working on clapping, loves to pump her leg and foot while sitting its the cutest thing, blow raspberries, and starting to squeal.

sleep:  Still a great sleeper.  Goes down between 7:30-8:30 sleeps all night until I wake her at 7:30 to go to the sitters.  Naps for 4 hours on the weekends.

cloths:  Size 0-3 shirts fit still.  But moving more into 3-6 clothes.

diapers:  size 1-2 from Costco

Dear Cason

 Dear Cason,
Today Buddy you are 5 years old!  What how and when did this happen?  Cason you are such a sweet, kind hearted lover.  You make my day special everyday with the kind things you say.  I don't' know how many times you have said, "mom, mom, mom....I love you!"  Everyday when I drop you off at the sitters I can't leave without giving you a hug, kiss and hearing you say, " I love you!  You're the most pretty mom and beautiful mom, prettiest mom, beautifuliest mom over and over!"  I have no doubt in my that you think I am the best.  You often tell people I am the boss.  So you must agree.

Cason you are the funniest character.  While I was off on maternity leave with Taylyn it was always an adventure to see what costume you would wear for the day.  You love dress ups.  Old costumes are the greatest to you.  Your firemen costumes was the latest fave for quite awhile.  Then your builder one you got for Christmas.

I love your imagination.  You are happy to go along with whatever game your brother coerces you into or your fine to play on your own making up your own game.  Playing with motorcycles and Weston's army guys, building puzzles, playing with robots, or with your fire station are some of your favorite games to play right now.

Some of your favorite movies/shows include:  Firemen Sam, Power Rangers, Turbo, Real Steel, and Team Omizomi.

When we are doing something at the table this is ^.  We joke and call it your Lord of the Rings pose (though I have never seen it).

You've started to be very good about wearing your glasses which is awesome since you will be starting kindergarten in the fall and really need to make sure you wear them.
Cason, you are such a kind hearted boy.  You are always willing to share whatever you have with anyone.  Be it your brother and sister, dad and I, or the kids at your.  Yesterday you were sweet enough to let Tay use your monkey blanket which is your most cherished possession because you said he looked like she wanted a blanket.  You warm my heart in how you interact with Taylyn.  You sing her songs when no one is listening.  You get so upset if she is crying and you perceive me to be doing nothing about it.
I am so lucky to have you in our house.  You remind me to be a better person with your sweet ways, your amazing manners, and your silly antics.

I know our family wouldn't be complete without you.

I love you so much!
Love, Mom

At 5 you are learning to write your name and other letters and numbers.
Have your phone number memorized.
Love to build puzzles.
Help dad fix things.
Ride your power wheel motorcycle or bike or go carts.
You love singing songs or rhymes you've learned.
Love any food for the most part, always have to have desert every night.
Love to dress up and make a mess with your toys.

6 months...1/2 a year

 Weight: 11.8 oz. 0%
Height: 25.5  inches 29%
Head: 15.5 inches 1%
Taylyn has had a rough two months according to her growth.  When I went to her 4 month check up her pediatrician was concerned because her weight had dropped from the 30% to 6%.  I wasn't concerned because Cason had been in the 3% his whole life (still is).  But when I went to her 6 month check and they weighted her and she actually lost a few ounces my heart sunk.  Cason was 14 pounds at 6 months.  I was concerned now.  I have been exclusively nursing her up to this point.  I was pumping enough each day when I was gone to keep up with her.  Unfortunately my supply started to dip once I went back to work when she was 4 months old.  (coincidence her weight dropped I don't think so).  Our pediatrician was now very concerned.  He wanted me to make sure she got 24 oz a day of milk or formula and nursing was just to be a bonus.  I also have to take her back in a month to check her weight.  If she is still not growing and getting at least 24 oz a day then he will look into other reasons for a lack of growth.  It killed me hearing him say that she wasn't in grow mode she was in maintain mode with her growth.  I have wanted to nurse I feel like it is best and I love everything about nursing.  I don't see it as a nuisance like many do.  But after pumping for almost a half hour to get 0.5 oz and then accidentally dumping it and Tay's frustration at the breast.  I gave up.  Yes, I GAVE up.  This was EXTREMELY hard for me but she wasn't growing, wasn't getting what she needed.  I had to change.  So I made is 6.5 months.  That is good right, right, RIGHT?  She still gets half her ounces a day from pumped frozen milk I had and half from formula.  We started her on cereal and solids the day of her 6 month appointment.
She was so excited about the cereal she literally took the spoon from me.  It was so cute she was like give me that food.  (guess she gets that from me.  I love me some food)
Taylyn is the messiest eater.  I feed her then she instintely puts her two fingers in her mouth.  I guess this helps with the taste :)

Accomplishments:  Rolling over from tummy to back.  She hates tummy time.  She will just put her head down and cry but now she is learning to flip back over.  Tay can sit for a few seconds so I have to stay close by.

Clothes: 0-3 months but moving more into 3-6 month clothes.  6 month clothes are too big but she wears them.  Newborn size shoes still
 Diaper: size 1

Sleeping:  Still an amazing sleeper.  I am very lucky.  Takes long naps.  Tay wakes at 7:45.  Goes down for a nap at 11ish and sleeps until 1ish.  Then sometimes fall asleep around 4.  Then goes down between 7-9 at night and sleeps all night.  One day she had to come to data meeting at work and I put her on the floor to play.  I looked over and this was what I saw.  Her asleep sucking those beloved fingers and her foot cocked.  It was too cute.

5 Months

Ms. Taybug turned 5 months on December 11th.  So right in the middle of Jon and my mom's birthday and Christmas.  So this post if obviously later.  5 months wasn't super eventful for her.  She didn't learn anything new.  She just continued to be my amazingly sweet baby.

Accomplishments:  She celebrated her first Christmas and New Years.
She did great with Santa she didn't fuss and seemed to have really liked him.  Tay got to sit on his lap twice once at the Layton family party and once at our house for Christmas Eve.
I had to post this one because I am just in love with this pic #nofilter

Sleep:  Back to sleeping like a champion.  Every once in awhile she would wake up but for the most part slept from 8-8.

Clothes:  0-3 month, some 3-6 month clothes, shoes are still newborn size.

Her brothers still adore her and she seems to think they are pretty great as well.

She doesn't seem to mind tummy time if she has a fun toy to play with.

We also got to enjoy a fun visit with my Grandparents from Texas.

Sorry for the picture overload but I can't help myself.  Plus I have out of state family that don't do facebook.

4 months old

I have to have a few nakie baby pics because I want to remember how tiny she was.
Her favorite position.  She loves to be all curled up.

 Our fun owl comparison
 Stats
Weight: 14.5 6%
Height:  25 inches 68 %
Head: 15.2 5%

What is up with the open mouth ha

She was getting annoyed with me at this point

Taylyn's 4th month flew by so fast!  I went back to work a week before she turned 4 months old.  She must have not liked the idea of me going to work because she started sleeping all day and only waking for a feeding and then going right back to sleep.  Then she started to stop sleeping through the night.  This was the worst part of all.  Taylyn began sleeping worse then she did even as a newborn waking every few hours.  To say I was getting exhausted is a slight understatement.

Accomplishments:  Rolling over from back to front very easily, grabs toys and holds them.  Everything goes straight to her mouth.  The biggest accomplishment; GIGGLING!!!  She would give me little giggles when I would kiss her cheeks.  Weston got her to give more by gently shaking her back and forth it was so cute.  Weston felt like he was the great big brother because he was able to get her to giggle.

Sleep:  AWFUL, waking every 2-3 hours so she was up at 3 times a night.  Luckily she would just eat and go right back to sleep.  Started sleeping in her own crib in her own room.

Clothes:  0-3 month, some 3-6 month clothes, shoes are still newborn size.

Diaper: size 1
